DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Wildcat women's tennis team made it a winning weekend when they finished with a 5-2 home win vs. Western Carolina Sunday afternoon on the Davidson Tennis Courts.

Davidson (3-1) won its third straight and finished 2-0 over the weekend with its other win coming against USC-Upstate Saturday. The win was also the 'Cats' 28th in the all-time series out of 29 matches vs. WCU.

Down 1-0 after the Catamounts (3-2) took the doubles point on a 7-4 tie-breaker win at No. 1, Davidson came back to score singles wins at No. 1-3, and 5 & 6 to secure the win. The pair of Ally Sexton and Anna Catharine Feaster saw their eight-match doubles win streak come to an end with a 6-4 defeat at No. 2.
Earning the lone doubles win was the pair of Megan Scholvinck and Ava Todd with an easy 6-0 decision at No. 3 for their second straight win together.

Feaster led the charge in singles, rolling to a 6-3, 6-2 win at the top spot for her third straight win.

Elaina Cummer (No. 5) and Todd (No. 2) also joined the sophomore with their third wins in a row. Cummer pulled out a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win to earn her 30th career singles victory. Todd moved to 3-1 on the season with a solid 6-2, 7-5 decision.

Earning the final two team points was the freshman Scholvinck and junior Sarah Stein at No. 3 and 6 positions, respectively. Scholvinck made it two straight wins with a well-played 6-3, 6-3 victory. Stein took a two-set match, winning by scores of 6-4, 6-4.

Davidson travels to East Carolina next weekend, Feb. 13.
