Davidson Hosts The Citadel Sunday for Senior Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team will wrap up its home portion of the 2015-16 schedule when the Wildcats host Southern Conference foe The Citadel (4-8, 1-4 SoCon) Sunday.

Class of 2016
Davidson will honor its two graduating seniors prior to the start of the match. Patrick Devlin and Nathaniel Powers will each be recognized for their contributions to the Davidson wrestling program.

About Davidson
Davidson will enter the match 4-11 overall and 0-3 in Southern Conference action. Sophomore Konner Pritchard and freshman Tony Palumbo lead the team with seven wins each at 184 and 157 pounds, respectively. Heavyweight Will Cooley leads the team with three falls.

Last Time Out
The Davidson wrestling team dropped a Southern Conference match at VMI Wednesday, Feb. 3, 37-0.

Last Time at Belk
Camden Bertucci and Dustin Runzo each earned victories as the Wildcats fell to Southern Conference foe Chattanooga, 37-9, Jan. 31.

Bertucci registered his first career pin at 125 pounds. The rookie recored a takedown and a reversal in the first period before pinning Toribbio Navarro at the 2:01 mark.

At 133 pounds, Runzo earned a hard-fought sudden victory decision over Cody Hill. In the first overtime frame, the sophomore tallied his second takedown of the match to secure his fourth victory.

Up Next
Davidson will travel to Boiling Springs, N.C., to take on Southern Conference rival Gardner-Webb. The match is set for Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
