DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson men's tennis team picked up its third win of the season with a 6-1 decision at home over Pfeiffer Saturday afternoon on the Davidson Tennis Courts.
 
The Wildcats (3-4) sent the Falcons (4-1) to their first defeat of the season, while remaining perfect in the series since 1988 at 4-0.
 
For the third time this year, Davidson grabbed an early 1-0 lead by picking up doubles wins at No. 2 and 3. The pair of Artem Khrapko and Zack Zapatero won their first match together this year with a 6-3 win, while David Hager and Jack Riazzi improved to a team-best 3-1 with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
 
Davidson took five of the six singles matches to secure the win. Hager and Riazzi each tallied wins of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 and 6 positions, respectively. It was Hager's fifth singles victory, while Riazzi pushed his winning streak to four win in a row.
 
Shamael Chaudhry moved down one spot in the lineup to No. 2 and easily netted a 6-1, 6-3 win, his fourth of the year.
 
Earning the other two singles wins were J.B. Gough and Jordan Hart at No. 3 and 5 positions. Gough tied Hager for the team lead with is fifth win, and fourth straight, coming back from dropping the first set 6-4, to pick up a 7-5 win in the second set and then sealed up the match with a super tie-breaker 10-4 victory.
 
Hart cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win to improve to 2-1 at No. 5 singles and 3-4 overall in the season.
 
Davidson head to the state of Florida for its next two matches, facing Miami and Florida Atlantic, March 1& 3.
