Aldridge and Gudmundsson Earn A-10 Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Peyton Aldridge has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, while fellow Wildcat Jon Axel Gudmundsson was voted Co-Rookie of the Week, for games played Dec. 19-25, as announced by the league office Monday.
A junior from Leavittsburg, Ohio, Aldridge scored a game-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting in Davidson's 75-60 win over Jacksonville on Dec. 21.
In addition to becoming the 49th player in school history to go over the 1,000-point plateau, the preseason all-conference selection added 9 rebounds and 5 assists in 38 minutes of action.
Aldridge is currently third in the league and 25th nationally averaging 21.1 points per game, while leading the 'Cats in rebounding (7.0).
Gudmundsson, a native of Grindavik, Iceland, finished with 10 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals against the Dolphins.
The freshman guard is the first Wildcat to earn the distinction since Aldridge in 2014-15.
