Men's Basketball Announces Signees

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Carter Collins (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill), Luke Frampton (Poca, W.Va./Poca), Kellan Grady (Boston, Mass./Northfield Mount Hermon) and Bates Jones (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin), have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Davidson men's basketball team in 2017-18, as recently announced by Head Coach Bob McKillop.
"We are thrilled with the admission to Davidson and signing of Luke Frampton, Kellan Grady, Bates Jones and Carter Collins," said McKillop. "Their athletic prowess and basketball talent is well documented. They have been incredibly well coached by superb coaches and terrific parents. They are going to make an immediate and significant contribution to our program."
Carter Collins
6-3, Guard
Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill High School
Accomplishments: East Chapel's all-time leading scorer • Surpassed 1,000 career points as a junior • Two-time all-conference performer • Voted PAC 6 Player of the Year in 2016 • Member of National Achievers Society and Honor Roll.
Personal: Born Dec. 9, 1998 • Son of Bradley and Kimberly Collins • Has a younger sister, Kennedy.
Luke Frampton
6-5, Guard
Poca, W.Va. / Poca High School
Accomplishments: Four-year letterwinner • Selected all-state following junior campaign • Three-time all-conference performer • Also lettered in baseball • Academically, member of National Honor Society, Honor Roll and All-Academic team.
Personal: Born Aug. 1, 1998 • Son of Rebecca Frampton and the late Bryan Frampton • Has two older brothers, Nathaniel and Noah.
Kellan Grady
6-5, Guard
Boston, Mass. / Northfield Mount Hermon
Accomplishments: Selected first-team all-state, ESPN Boston first-team all-state, Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Boston Herald Dream Team, Catholic Conference All-Star and NEPSAC Class AAA Honorable Mention as a junior • Also named a Catholic Conference All-Star in 2014.
Personal: Born Sept. 11, 1997 • Son of Rob and Danielle Grady • Has two siblings, Liam and Kayla.
Bates Jones
6-8, Forward
Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte Latin
Accomplishments: Three-year letterwinner for Coach Chris Berger • Named CISAA All-Conference as a junior • Averaged 15.7 points and 9.5 rebounds last season • Selected Charlotte Observer Player of the Week multiple times • Also an all-state quarterback and Team MVP on the football field • Led Charlotte Latin to the 2016 NCISAA State Championship • Academically, member of the Headmaster's List.
Personal: Born March 14, 1999 • Son of Steve and Becca Jones '85 • Has three siblings, Rebecca '17, Daniel and Ruthie • Rebecca is a member of the Davidson field hockey team • Daniel plays football at Duke.
