MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The women's cross country team placed fourth overall at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship hosted by Richmond Saturday morning at Pole Green Park.
Wildcat sophomore Caroline Yarbrough paced the 'Cats, crossing the line in ninth overall. The Greensboro, N.C., native completed the 5k course in 17:36.9, her fastest time of the season, and earned All-Conference honors for the second time in as many tries.
Davidson registered 108 points for the fourth place team finish, the best placing for Jen Straub's squad since a second place result at the 2007 SoCon Conference Championship. Host Richmond claimed the title, tallying 77 points, while Dayton and Duquesne tied for second with 88 points apiece.
"I am extremely proud of the women! They were picked to finish seventh in the conference and ran incredibly strong by finishing fourth," said Straub.
