Gibbs Earns Another A-10 Player of the Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Coming off a career-high 43 points, Jack Gibbs of the Davidson men's basketball team has been voted Atlantic 10 Player of Week for the second straight week and fifth time this season, as announced by the league office Monday.
For the week, Gibbs averaged 37.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game, while shooting 42.3 percent (11-26) from 3-point range and 87.5 percent (21-24) at the charity stripe.
A junior from Westerville, Ohio, Gibbs began the week with a game-high 31 points, including a personal best 7 3-pointers at Dayton.
The 6-0 point guard capped his week with his third 40-point performance of the season in Davidson's win over UMass. In addition, Gibbs became the 48th player in school history to go over the 1,000-point plateau, while flirting with a triple-double grabbing 8 rebounds and handing out 8 assists.
Gibbs, who ranks third nationally in scoring at 25.7 points per game, has earned conference player of the week honors eight times in his career, which is the second-most in school history behind Stephen Curry (16).
Davidson returns to action Wednesday with an 8 p.m. (EST) contest at Saint Louis.
