Gibbs Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the fourth time this season, Jack Gibbs of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday. Gibbs shares the award with Fordham's Ryan Rhoomes.
For the week, Gibbs averaged 23.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game, while shooting 45.5 percent (5-11) from 3-point range and 80 percent (12-15) at the charity stripe.
A junior from Westerville, Ohio, Gibbs began the week with 21 points and 10 assists in Davidson's win over Duquesne. In addition to his third career double-double, Gibbs added 5 rebounds and a personal-best 6 steals.
The 6-0 point guard capped his week with a game-high 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 dimes in the Wildcats' 81-75 triumph over George Mason on Saturday.
Gibbs has earned conference player of the week honors seven times in his career, which is the second-most in school history behind Stephen Curry (16).
Davidson returns to the hardwood Tuesday evening with an 8 p.m. tip at Dayton.
