DAVIDSON, N.C. – Maxi Pragnell and Alec Rotunda found the back of the net for Davidson and the Wildcats extended their home-unbeaten streak to 16 straight with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Duke in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday at Alumni Stadium.

In addition to the longest stretch in program history without a home loss, Davidson (3-3-3) is unbeaten in its last six (4-0-2) against ACC competition.

Pragnell gave the Wildcats the early advantage with a low blast from just outside the box. The junior's first goal of the season and 11th minute strike came off an assist from Matthew Gandier.

Just prior to the half, Duke's Brody Huitema provided an equalizer off an impressive side volley, which was set up by a Bryson Asher cross.

In the 48th minute, Macario Hing-Glover gave the Blue Devils (4-3-2) their first lead of the match off a one v. one with Davidson keeper Matt Pacifici following a misplayed clearance by a Wildcat defender.

After being outshot 9-2 in the first half, the Wildcats picked up the pace following intermission and eventually tied the score, 2-2, on Rotunda's third goal of the year.

Davidson had the better of chances after regulation, including a well-struck attempt by Pragnell in the second extra session that was punched over the cross bar by Wilson Fischer.

Pacifici finished with a game-high seven saves, while Fischer turned away four shots for the Devils.

Along with senior co-captain Shane Macnamara, Davidson's young defense made up of two freshmen and two sophomores, played the entire 110 minutes.

The Davidson / Duke soccer rivalry has never been more competitive, with three straight matches going to overtime.

Up Next
Davidson will open Atlantic 10 play Saturday, Oct. 3 when George Washington comes to town for a 7 p.m. contest.
