Kalinoski to Participate in Portsmouth Invitational

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's Tyler Kalinoski will compete in the 63rd Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament this week in Portsmouth, Va., as announced Monday afternoon.
For the past 62 years the P.I.T has invited 64 of the best college basketball players (seniors) from across the nation to participate in a four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team.
The 2015 P.I.T tips off Wednesday, April 8 and will end on Saturday, April 11. The third Wildcat (Jake Cohen – 2013; De'Mon Brooks – 2014) in the last three years to compete, Kalinoksi will be a member of the Sales Systems, Ltd. team.
Kalinoski, who was also named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and to the NABC All-District squad, led the Wildcats to the 2015 A-10 Regular Season Crown and their first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
A senior from Overland Park, Kan., Kalinoski concluded the year ranked among A-10 leaders in scoring (16.7/5th), rebounding (5.7/20th), assists (4.1/2nd), 3-point field-goal percentage (.423/7th) and minutes played (34.8/5th), while leading the league in 3-pointers made (91) 3-pointers per game (2.8) and assist/turnover ratio (3.0).
In addition, the 6-4 shooting guard scored in double figures 28 times, hit the 20-point plateau nine times and poured in a career-high 32 points on 12-of-14 shooting, including 8 3-pointers in Davidson's win at Duquesne.
During his four-year standout career, the Wildcats posted a 95-37 overall record, 62-8 conference mark, won four regular season titles, two conference tournament crowns and appeared in four postseason tournaments, including three NCAA trips.
