ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team had a strong showing at the 2015 Southern Conference Championships, as Scott Patrick defeated Gardner-Webb's Hunter Gamble, 6-1, at 184 pounds to capture his second straight conference Championship.
Teammate Anthony Elias wrestled his way to the podium, after defeating Gardner-Webb's Tyler Ziegler, 6-4, to place third in his final conference championship.
James McCord and Ian Solcz advanced to the third-place match at 149 lbs., and 197 lbs., respectively. McCord fell to Chattanooga's Shawn Greevy, while Solcz could not overcome Chattanooga's Scottie Boykin.
Patrick will travel to Saint Louis, Mo., to compete at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
