Gibbs Earns Third A-10 Player of the Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Jack Gibbs of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week for games played Feb. 23 – March 1, as announced by the league office Monday morning. Gibbs shares this week's honor with Dayton's Jordan Sibert.

For the week, Gibbs averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game, while making 13-of-15 from the charity stripe. In addition, the sophomore point guard drilled the game-winning 3-pointer with 11 seconds to go at Rhode Island Wednesday evening.

After scoring 15 points against the Rams, Gibbs capped his week with a game-high 22 points, 7 assists and 3 steals in Davidson's 77-66 victory over George Washington Saturday.

This marks the eighth time this season a Davidson player has been honored.

Winners of seven straight and tied for first in the A-10 standings, Davidson (21-6, 12-4 A-10) will conclude its 2014-15 home slate Thursday with a 9 p.m. nationally-televised (ESPNU) contest against VCU.
