DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson seeks its third win of the season when it hosts Bucknell for a evening contest at Richardson Stadium in women's lacrosse.
The Opening Draw Control
Davidson (2-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10), winners of seven of their past eight contests at home dating back to last year, plays Bucknell (2-4) on Wednesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. Wednesday's contest finishes up an opening season stretch of playing four of the first five games at home.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools, with the Bison holding a 5-0 lead in the series.
The last meeting took place in 2010 at Bucknell in both team's season-opening game. The Wildcats had leads of 5-2 and 7-4, but a 4-0 run to close the game led the Bison to the win. They scored the game-winning goal on a free-position shot with one second left for the 8-7 victory. Alanna Parker and Erin Keitel led the 'Cats' offense with two goals each.

Record Watch: Second in Points
Senior Emily Cooke moved into a tie for second place in the record books in points after dishing out an assist last Saturday vs. Saint Francis. The attacker pushed her career total to 185 to tie Amanda Fleck. Cooke already holds the school's all-time assist record, increasing her total to 113 after an assist vs. the Monarchs.
Fellow senior Emily Rademacher ranks fourth all-time with 114 draw controls and is four away from moving into third place. Junior Emma Sissman holds the career mark with 146, while her 83 goals are just outside the top-10. Goalie Katy Boyle moved into the top-10 all-time in saves with 161, ranking seventh, while her 9.35 career goals against average is tops all-time.
Weekly Honors
Senior Emily Cooke and freshman Christine Molinari became the first Davidson women's lacrosse players to earn Atlantic 10 weekly awards as the duo were named the player and rookie of the week for games played from Feb. 16-23.
Six in a Row at Home
Davidson had a six-game home streak that came to an end in a defeat to Navy, Feb. 21. The streak start last March 22 against Elon, a 15-8 triumph. The Wildcats rattled off wins against Old Dominion, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina and Liberty to finish out the year. They then opened the 2015 season with a 21-4 triumph over Kennesaw State to capture their sixth straight.
The record is seven straight set from the 2008 season into the start of the 2009 campaign.

As of March 8, Davidson is among the tops in the nation in several team and individual categories:
- Scoring offense (14.25 per game, 18th)
- Groundballs (20.75, 6th)
- Annie Brockett (goals per game- 3.5, 10th)

Last Time Out ...
DAVIDSON — Annie Brockett led five players with multiple goals and Davidson snapped a two-game losing streak with a solid 17-9 victory at home over Saint Francis on a sunny Saturday afternoon last weekend.
Brockett had her third four-goal game this year to pace the offense and match her personal best, while Lucy Sexton and Morgan Burch added three goals each, with Burch tying her career high. Emma Sissman and Nicole Pettiglio rounded out the five multi-goal scorers for Davidson with two scores apiece.
Davidson put the game away early, racing out to a 7-1 lead after 16 minutes of play. Brockett tallied three of the goals. The Red Flash got to within four at the half, 10-6, by scoring three of the final four goals in the last 8:35 of the half. But, Davidson countered by opening the second half on a 5-0 run to take a 15-6 lead with 17:35 remaining.
Holly Thomas dominated on defense, forcing a career-high four turnovers, while adding three draw controls and three groundballs. Emily Rademacher had a nice defensive game as well, forcing a career-high three turnovers to go with four groundballs and three draw controls, both season highs.
Last Time Out ...
... Bucknell — The Bucknell women's lacrosse team ran into an offensive juggernaut on Monday at Winthrop and fell 19-9 in the first of two Spring Break contests in the Carolinas.
Maddy Molinari, Gretchen Richter and Sam Rickels tallied two goals apiece to lead the Bison.
Bucknell hung with the Eagles early, playing to a 4-all tie for the first 18 minutes. But, the final 12 minutes of the half belonged to the Eagles as they outscored the Bison 6-1 over that span for 10-5 lead at the break. The margin ballooned to 14-5 after Winthrop scored the first four goals of the second period, and it climbed to as many as 11 at 19-8.
The Eagles finished with a 29-17 shot advantage over Bucknell, and also led 24-16 in ground balls and 16-14 in draw controls.
