DAVIDSON, N.C. —  Three Wildcats went perfect on the day in both singles and doubles, and they helped lead Davidson to a sweep of Wingate (6-1) and Gardner-Webb (7-0) Saturday in women's tennis in the Knobloch Tennis Center.
 
The Wildcats pushed their win streak to four straight with the two wins, improving to 4-1 overall. Wingate fell to 0-3 and Gardner-Webb suffered its first defeat to fall to 2-1.
 
Anna Catharine Feaster, Ava Todd and Sarah Stein all went 4-0 on the day, pushing their singles win streaks to four in a row, while Jenna Brunner and Elaina Cummer were 2-0 in singles action.
 
Feaster, fresh off being named the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Wednesday, and Sexton won doubles matches of 7-6 (7-4) and 6-2 at No. 2 to remain perfect on the year at 5-0. Feaster then gave up just one game in four sets, taking 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 wins over Wingate and Gardner-Webb at No. 2 singles.
 
Todd and Stein teamed up at No. 3 doubles and netted two 6-2 decisions to push their win streak to three straight. In singles, the duo played to 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-4 victories at No. 3 and 5 positions, respectively, vs. the Bulldogs in the morning. Then vs. the Runnin' Bulldogs, the freshman and sophomore again played the same spots, with Todd winning in straight sets by the count of 6-4, 6-4 to improve to 4-1 on the campaign.
 
Stein played a super tie-breaker after splitting her first two sets, 6-1, 4-6, and prevailed with an 11-9 win in the tie-breaker.
 
Pushing her singles win streak to three straight was Cummer with a couple of 6-1, 6-1 wins at No. 1. The junior was recently named the A-10 Performer of the Week on Wednesday with Feaster.
 
Brunner ran her singles record to 3-2 overall, with all three wins coming at No. 4, by taking a super tie-breaker win (10-4) against Wingate and then scoring a 6-1, 6-1 triumph against Gardner-Webb. The sophomore had split her first two sets against Wingate, 5-7, 6-3, and with the team matched decided, played a super tie-breaker.
 
Also earning her third singles win of the season was Cassidy Shell at No. 6 vs. the Runnin' Bulldogs. The freshman regrouped after falling 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) in the morning match to Wingate with a strong 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory in the afternoon.
 
Next up the Wildcats play their second road match of the season with a trip to Campbell, Feb. 21.
