Gibbs Tabbed Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second time this season and fifth time in his career, junior Jack Gibbs of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
For games played Nov. 30 – Dec. 6, Gibbs averaged 30 points per game, while shooting 56.8 percent (21-37) from the floor, 50 percent (9-18) from 3-point range and 81.8 percent (9-11) at the charity stripe.
In the Wildcats 109-74 win over Charlotte, Gibbs scored a career-high 41 points on 14-of-17 shooting, including six 3-pointers and 7-of-9 effort at the line. With former Davidson standout and 2015 NBA MVP Stephen Curry in attendance, Gibbs made his first 14 shots and scored 25 first-half points.
The 6-0 point guard concluded his week with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the Wildcats' setback at nationally-ranked North Carolina on Sunday.
Gibbs continues to lead the Wildcats in scoring averaging 24.6 points per game, which ranks fifth nationally.
Davidson is 5-1 overall and will begin play in the 2015 Gotham Classic Wednesday with an 8:30 p.m. tip against Eastern Washington at Belk Arena.
