Gibbs Earns Another A-10 Weekly Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second straight week and third time this season, Davidson's Jack Gibbs has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday. Gibbs shares this week's honor with DeAndre' Bembry of Saint Joseph's.
For games played Dec. 7-13, Gibbs averaged 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, while shooting 64.3 percent (18-28) overall, 46.2 percent (6-13) from behind the arc and 85.7 percent (12-14) at the charity stripe.
In Davidson's win over Eastern Washington (12/9), the 6-0 point guard hit the 35-point plateau for the third time this season with 37 points on 12-of-17 shooting. In addition, Gibbs drilled six 3-pointers to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
Gibbs, who ranks second nationally in scoring at 25.3 points per game, capped his week with a double-double (17 pts, 12 rebs.), while leading the 'Cats to an 87-54 victory over Western Carolina on Saturday.
This marks the sixth time Gibbs has been selected A-10 Player of the Week.

Following the exam break, Davidson (7-1) will take on Pittsburgh at Madison Square Garden in the Gotham Classic Showcase Game on Sunday, Dec. 20. The game will tip at 12 p.m. and be televised nationally on ESPNU.
