DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson head men's basketball coach Bob McKillop recently announced that senior Brian Sullivan, junior Jack Gibbs and sophomore Peyton Aldridge have been named team captains for the 2015-16 season.
"Fascinating and wonderful experience for me as a coach because no matter what class they are in, all three have demonstrated a consistent and impressive ability to lead themselves which has served as a catalyst for them to lead our team," said McKillop.
Gibbs, who earned all-league honors in 2014-15 after averaging 16.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists, was selected preseason all-conference first-team by the A-10 head coaches and media last month.
Also named preseason all-conference, Sullivan joined Gibbs on the second-team a year ago, after contributing 12.7 points and 3.9 assists per outing, while drilling 83 3-pointers.
Both Gibbs and Sullivan along with Tyler Kalinoski '15, served as captains in 2014-15.
Aldridge, a sophomore from Leavittsburg, Ohio, contributed 9.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game last season to earn all-rookie recognition.
Coming off their first-ever at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats finished the 2014-15 season 24-8 overall and 14-4 in league play. In addition, Davidson captured the A-10 regular season title in its first year as league members after being predicted to finish 12th.
For the third consecutive season, Davidson will host in-state foe Lenoir-Rhyne in its lone exhibition contest, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. inside John M. Belk Arena.
