DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Highlighted by six home contests as well as dates with North Carolina and Virginia from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Davidson released the non-conference portion of its 2014-15 men's basketball schedule Thursday afternoon.
Prior to tipping the regular season against Catholic on Saturday, November 15 at John M. Belk Arena, the Wildcats will host in-state foe Lenoir-Rhyne in a preseason exhibition November 11.
Davidson, which became official members of the Atlantic 10 in July, will also entertain Campbell (Nov. 18), UNC Wilmington (Nov. 29), Charlotte (Dec. 3), Stetson (Dec. 6) and Niagara (Dec. 13).
In addition to welcoming the Tar Heels to Time Warner Cable Arena on Nov. 22, the road slate includes matchups at UCF (Nov. 26), Montana (Dec. 10), College of Charleston (Dec. 20) and Virginia (Dec. 30).
The Atlantic 10 is about a month away from releasing its conference schedule, however the Wildcats' league opponents were announced in May.
Davidson will play home/home series with Duquesne, George Mason, George Washington, Richmond and VCU. In addition, the Wildcats will also host Dayton, Fordham, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis, while also traveling to La Salle, UMass, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph's.
The A-10 is coming off a historical season in which a record six teams earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, including Dayton's magical run to the Elite Eight, the seventh straight year an A-10 team has reached an NCAA Regional round (Sweet 16). The league also had seven teams ranked or earning votes in the national poll and finished with six teams in the RPI top 50.
The 2015 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship will be played March 11-15, 2015 at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Season Tickets for the 2014-15 campaign are on sale now. Mini-packs will be available starting September 15, while individual game tickets go on sale October 1. For more information visit DavidsonWildcats.com or call the ticket office at 1-800-768-CATS (2287).
