DAVIDSON, N.C. — A goal in the 31st minute by UAB proved to be the difference as Davidson fell by the score of 1-0 Friday night to the visiting Blazers in women's soccer at Alumni Stadium.
Playing each other for the first time, UAB (2-0) got the only goal of the game when Morgan Key-Adams beat her defender and then the goalie with a move to score at the 30:51 mark. The play was set up by Bri Kuestersteffen, who fed a long through ball to the streaking Key-Adams.
Goalkeeper Rachel Locke kept the 'Cats (1-2) in the game with a season and career-high 11 saves.
The Blazers held advantages in shots (17-9) and corner kicks (9-7).
Davidson wraps up a season-high four-game homestand to start the campaign by hosting Army Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
