DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Atlantic 10 has released the 2014-15 men's basketball schedule and Davidson's inaugural season will feature seven televised contests, including its conference opener against Richmond on Jan. 3 at John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats, who became official members of the A-10 on July 1, will face each of the 13 conference opponents during the 18-game league slate that consists of nine home and nine away games.
Davidson will play home/home series with Duquesne, George Mason, George Washington, Richmond and VCU.
The Wildcats will also host Dayton (Jan. 20), Fordham (Feb. 21), St. Bonaventure (Feb. 4) and Saint Louis (Jan. 10), while also traveling to La Salle (Feb. 14), UMass (Jan. 14), Rhode Island (Feb. 25) and Saint Joseph's (Jan. 31).
The A-10 is coming off a historical season in which a record six teams earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, including Dayton's magical run to the Elite Eight, the seventh straight year an A-10 team has reached an NCAA Regional round (Sweet 16). The league also had seven teams ranked or earning votes in the national poll and finished with six teams in the RPI top 50.
The 2015 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship will be played March 11-15, 2015 at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Non-Conference Schedule
Along with six home contests, dates with North Carolina and Virginia from the ACC highlight the Wildcats' non-conference slate.
Prior to tipping the regular season against Catholic on Saturday, November 15 on McKillop Court, the Wildcats will host in-state foe Lenoir-Rhyne in a preseason exhibition November 11.
Davidson will also entertain Campbell (Nov. 18), UNC Wilmington (Nov. 29), Charlotte (Dec. 3), Stetson (Dec. 6) and Niagara (Dec. 13).
In addition to welcoming the Tar Heels to Time Warner Cable Arena on Nov. 22, the road slate includes matchups at UCF (Nov. 26), Montana (Dec. 10), College of Charleston (Dec. 20) and Virginia (Dec. 30).
