Aldridge Earns Second Rookie of the Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second time in his brief career, Peyton Aldridge of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played Dec. 14-21, as announced by the league office Monday.
In Davidson's seventh straight win, an 80-68 victory at College of Charleston on Saturday, Aldridge recorded a game-high 22 points, nine rebounds and personal-best four blocks. In addition, the forward from Leavittsburg, Ohio, drilled five 3-pointers and went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
Aldridge, who earned his first league honor on Nov. 24, is averaging 12.4 points per game, while leading the Wildcats in both rebounding (5.9 rpg) and blocks (10).
Teammates Jack Gibbs (Dec. 1) and Tyler Kalinoski (Dec. 8) have also been recognized by the A-10 this season.
Off to its best start under head coach Bob McKillop, Davidson (9-1) returns to the hardwood Dec. 30 with a 6 pm. ESPNU contest at No. 5/5 Virginia.
