CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Davidson women's tennis was able to play one of the two days scheduled in the Charlotte Invitational as the Wildcats took part in Friday's first round matches.

Due to expected severe weather in the area on Saturday, the second day of play was cancelled. The Wildcats were able to get in two rounds of doubles against UNCG and Coastal Carolina, while playing one round of singles against Charlotte.

The trio of Anna Catharine Feaster, Elaina Cummer and Ava Todd each picked up wins vs. the 49ers in singles action. Feaster took a 6-4, 6-0 decision at No. 1 singles, followed by Cummer's 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2. The freshman Todd won a hard-fought three-setter, splitting her first two sets, 6-3, 3-6, before winning a dramatic tie-breaker 7-4 to take the match in the last set at 7-6.

In doubles, the teams of Jenna Brunner and Cummer at No. 1, and Feaster and Ally Sexton at No. 2, each won one match. The Wildcats top doubles team scored an 8-6 victory against Coastal Carolina's top team, before falling in their other match 8-7(4).

Feaster and Sexton won an 8-4 decision against UNCG, but were defeated by Coastal Carolina's No. 2 team by the count of 8-3.

Davidson wraps up its Fall season this weekend, Nov. 7-9, with a trip to the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational this weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C.
