DAVIDSON, N.C. — Returing home for the first time since Sept. 18, the Davidson women's soccer team plays host to Richmond in an Atlantic 10 matchup Saturday evening at 7 p.m. under the lights at Alumni Stadium.

The Matchup
Davidson (4-8-1, 1-1 A-10) plays its lone home game in a seven-game stretch this weekend by hosting the Richmond Spiders (7-5-1, 1-0-1 A-10) Saturday. The 'Cats are playing six games out of a seven-game stretch that began Sept. 21 and ends Oct. 19 on the road.

The All-Time Series/Last Meetings
The Wildcats and the Spiders have seen each other four times all-time, with Davidson trailing 0-3-1. The last meeting was in 2009 in Richmond, Va., as the Spiders earned a 3-2 decision. Davidson later went on to earn the program's first NCAA Tournament bid at the end of the season.

Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson (4-8-1, 1-1 A-10) is coming off a 1-1 weekend in its first ever Atlantic 10 games ... the Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak Friday with a 2-0 win at St. Bonaventure, before falling in a tough double-overtime decision at Duquesne Sunday, 1-0 ... Friday's A-10 win also marked the first league victory for any of the 19 Davidson sports that moved to the Atlantic 10 this year ... Stephanie Piperno scored her team-best third goal of the year in the win, while Vicky Bruce earned a pair of assists ... Lauren Grace Himes knocked in her first career goal as well in the win and has three points in the last two games ... both Piperno and Bruce pace the offense with seven points each ... Rachel Locke had a solid weekend, earning her fourth shutout Friday, while saving 10 shots Sunday vs. the Dukes ... after the weekend, she moved into third place all-time in the Wildcat record books in saves (307) and shutouts (18) ... she has 23 career wins ... Locke continues to lead the A-10 with 73 saves and holds a 1.18 goals against average ... Davidson is 2-3-1 at home  ... head coach Greg Ashton won his 176th career game, 105th at Davidson, in Friday's victory vs. the Bonnies ... he is 14 wins away from becoming the program's all-time winningest coach ... Davidson is playing its first year in the Atlantic 10 after a 20-year run in the SoCon (116-58-30, three regular season titles and four tournament titles) ... the Wildcats return 16 letterwinners, including eight starters ... the 'Cats were picked to finish 12th in their first year in the Atlantic 10.

Scouting the Spiders
Richmond (7-5-1, 1-0-1 A-10) earned a win and tie in its first weekend of A-10 play ... the Spiders tied Duquesne 2-2, before rolling to a 5-0 shutout at St. Bonaventure last Sunday ... Meaghan Carrigan scored both goals Friday vs. the Dukes, while Shannon Colligan (2) and Olivia Aha (1) combined for three assists ... Lexi Prillaman led the scoring outburst Sunday with two goals and an assist ... Carrigan had a goal and assist ... six Spiders in all registered at least a point in the win ... pacing the offense on the season is Carrigan and Ashley Riefner with 24 and 21 points, respectively ... Carrigan, who leads the A-10 in points, has an league-best 11 goals, while Riefner's seven assists are second-most in the A-10 ... Colligan is third with 13 points on an league-high 11 assists and a goal ... Richmond as a team leads the league in shots (237, 18.2 per game), points (96) and goals (29, 2.23 per game) ... between the pipes, Emily Kelly has started nine of the 13 games ... she has a 2.21 goals against average with 37 saves ... Katie Brennan has started the other three games, owning a 1.24 GAA and 17 saves, while going 2-0-1 ... Richmond was picked eight in the A-10 preseason poll after going 3-4-1 last year (6-9-3 overall) ... the Spiders return 16 letterwinners, including six starters ... Richmond has won the A-10 regular season title once (2000) and the tournament title once (2002).
