CARY, N.C. — The Davidson men's tennis team sent three players to the USTA/ITA Regional Championships at the Cary Tennis Park with Artem Khrapko, Jack Riazzi and Evan Watkins each bringing home a win before their weekend came to an end Friday.
Khrapko represented the Wildcats in the main singles draw and opened Thursday with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Bailey Joshua from North Carolina A&T to move onto the second round. His tournament run came to an end when the freshman fell to Wake Forest's Skander Mansouri 6-2, 6-4.
The pair of Riazzi and Watkins played in the main doubles draw and earned themselves an opening round win. The duo took a solid 8-4 decision against a pair from N.C. Central. Riazzi's and Watkins' run ended though in the second round, falling Wake Forest's double team of Jonathan Ho and Mansouri by the score of 8-3.
