DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming & diving teams will welcome CCSA foe Gardner-Webb to Cannon Pool this weekend for their annual Senior Day celebration. The two will face off in the Wildcats' final home dual meet of the season Saturday at 1 p.m.
Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs
The Gardner-Webb women enter the meet 2-1, with wins over Limestone and VMI. The men are 3-1, boasting victories over Georgetown, Limestone and VMI. Nathan Lile has been one of the men's leaders this season, ranking in the top 10 of the CCSA in the 200-yard IM, the 400 IM and the 200-yard backstroke. Charity Byrum has been one of the women's top swimmers this season, sitting in the top five of the league in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events, while Giorgie Graves is a leader in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events.
Last Meeting
The Wildcats fell to the Runnin' Bulldogs in Boiling Springs, N.C, last season, with the women dropping a 136-69 contest and the men taking a 107-98 loss. Dylan Ludwick set a new pool record with a win in the 500-yard free and also took the 1,000-yard free in the meet while Meredith Nakano won the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. The divers did not compete at the meet.

Lankiewicz Honored
Elise Lankiewicz set a slew of new Davidson records this season, most of which came at the TPSC Invitational in Ohio this December. The freshman freestyler set four program marks at the event – the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.76), 1,650-yard freestyle (16:53.77), 1,000-yard freestyle (10:13.63) and 500-yard freestyle (4:56.39). Williams Making Her Mark
Fellow freshman Katy Williams has also had record-setting performances in her first season with the squad. Williams set a new program mark in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:03.29 at the TPSC Invitational.
Burton, Ludwick Lead the Way
Luke Burton led the way for the Wildcats at the TPSC Invitational, coming away with a pair of top-5 finishes. His efforts, which included posting the second-fastest time in Davidson history in the 100-yard backstroke, earned him CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors. Dylan Ludwick continues to be the CCSA leader in the distance events, ranking first in the 1,000-yard free, sixth in the 500-yard free and eighth in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
