DAVIDSON, N.C. — Kevin Moore, Chris Mark and Connor Evins won both their singles and doubles matches in leading the Wildcat men's tennis team to a 5-2 Southern Conference victory at home vs. Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon at the Knobloch Indoor Tennis Center.

The trio helped Davidson (9-6, 3-3 SoCon) snap a three-match losing streak. The Wildcats won for the 13th time against the Eagles (7-6, 3-2 SoCon) in the past 22 matches dating back to 1988.

The senior pair of Moore and Mark picked an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Evins teamed with Nicky Kunz at No. 3 for the same score to give the Wildcats the early 1-0 lead. Moore and Mark snapped a three-match skid of their own, improving to 7-7 on the season (6-3 at No. 1).

Ethan Kallick and Joe Schafer finished the doubles off with an 8-3 win themselves as Davidson won the doubles points for the ninth time this year, but first since March 7 at The Citadel.

In singles action, Moore netted a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at No. 6 for his first win of the season in his first match.

Mark improved to 5-7 (3-3 SoCon) by giving up just three games in a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 over A. Codina Sala.

Evins gave the 'Cats a fourth point by defeating Marco Osorio at No. 5 by the score of 6-4, 6-3. The junior is tied with Kunz with seven wins on the year.

Robert Lightbourn closed out the final point for Davidson by taking home a three-set affair at No. 4. The junior won his first set, 6-4, but fell in the second 6-4, forcing the final set. Lightbourn cruised in the last set, blanking Kyle Hoffman 6-0 for his fourth three-set win this season. Two of his past three matches have gone to a third set and he has prevailed in both of them.

The win gave head coach Drew Barrett his 62nd at Davidson and 101st for his career.

The Wildcats next hit the road for a 2 p.m. league match at Wofford, March 26.
