SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Connor Evins clinched the winning point with his 6-4, 6-2 singles victory and Davidson sealed up its second league win in a row with a 4-3 triumph on the road at Wofford Tuesday afternoon in men's Southern Conference tennis action at Reeves Tennis Center.
 
Davidson netted its 10th win of the year to move to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in SoCon action. It the first double-digit win season for the Wildcats since 2010, who improved to 13-8 since 1988 against Wofford.
 
With the Wildcats leading the Terriers (3-9, 1-4 SoCon) 3-1 in the match, Evins netted his eighth win of the season by defeating Tom Wood at No. 5 singles.
 
The junior earlier had teamed with Nicky Kunz to seal up the doubles team point by scoring a 9-7 victory at No. 3. Davidson as a team moved to 22-19 in doubles play, 10-11 vs. the SoCon.
 
Joe Schafer also went 2-0 on the day, teaming with Ethan Kallick to win the first doubles match of the afternoon, 8-5, at No. 2. The senior then cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles, running his record to a team-best 9-6 (4-3 SoCon).
 
Fellow classmate Chris Mark moved to 6-7, 4-3 in the SoCon, in singles action with a solid 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3.
 
The Wildcats play their next two at home, starting with a 3 p.m. match against Samford this weekend, March 29.
