Burton-Akright, Monuszko Head to NCAA Zone Meet

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Davidson divers Kaliya Burton-Akright and Karen Monuszko will continue their seasons at the 2013 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, hosted at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center March 11-13.
The meet will with begin with the men's 1-meter competition at 11 a.m. Monday, followed by the women's 1-meter event at 3:30 that afternoon. The meet will resume on Tuesday morning with the women's 3-meter competition at 11 a.m. followed by the men's event at 3:30 p.m. Competition will conclude with the women and men's platform events at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively, on Wednesday.
Burton-Akright and Monuszko both enjoyed career seasons, setting new personal bests. Monuszko originally broke the program's 3-meter record with a score of 280.75 at the CCSA Duals, but Burton-Akright would top the mark a week later with a 285.65 at Clemson.
Burton-Akright also came home with a pair of top-five finishes at the 2013 CCSA Meet. She placed fourth in the 3-meter, scoring a 266.55 in the finals after putting up a career-best 294.45 in the prelims. She grabbed another fourth place award in the 1-meter, scoring a 253.40.
Monuszko took sixth in the 3-meter at the championship meet, scoring a 260.85.
