Men’s Track & Field Completes Competition at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team was led by a school all-time top-10 performance by junior Michael Lorentsen, Saturday at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted in the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex.
 
Competing in the final tune-up before the Southern Conference Indoor Championships, Lorentsen placed 11th in the pole vault after clearing 14-7 ¼ (4.45m).
 
Junior Stewart Dalton led the Wildcats in the short sprints, completing the 60m in 7.36 seconds and the 200m in 23.61 seconds.
 
Sal del Giudice and Wesley Laytham paced the Wildcats in the middle distance events, as del Giudice finished the 800m in 1:58.94 and Laytham finished the mile in 4:28.89.
 
Whitner Chase led Davidson in the 3000m in 8:50.48.
 
Cyrus Bahram, del Giudice, Will Mitchell and Charles Rappe finished the 4x400-meter relay in 3:32.09.
 
Senior Wes Reynolds posted a top-10 finish to lead the team Friday. Reynolds cruised to a sixth place finish in the 5000-meter run in 15:40.57. Sophomore Chris Repecki and junior Jamie Durling also competed.
 
Freshman Xzavier Killings competed in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, ¾ inch(1.85m), while Dalton posted a top leap of 20-10 (6.35m) in the long jump.
 
The Wildcats will next compete in the SoCon Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24 at the JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem, N.C.
