DAVIDSON, N.C – Davidson learned this evening it will host Montana Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. on ESPNU in the 11th annual Bracketbusters.
For the second straight season, the Wildcats are one of 26 teams selected to be a part of the BracketBusters event on the ESPN family of networks.
As part of the agreement, all 13 of the BracketBusters home teams, as well as the remaining home squads, will play a “return” game at the home facility of their opponent in November or December of the 2013-14 season.
Davidson, which has won six straight and eight of its last nine games, is 15-7 overall and 10-1 in the Southern Conference. The Griz are currently 16-4 overall and 12-0 in the Big Sky Conference.
Davidson made its first appearance in the BracketBusters in 2008 and defeated Winthrop 60-47 on the road en route to a 25-game winning streak and a spot in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional championship game. The Wildcats lost to nationally-ranked Butler and Wichita State in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
Davidson returns to the hardwood Thursday evening when it welcomes Western Carolina to Belk Arena for a 7 p.m. tip.
The 11th annual BracketBusters, a two-day men's college basketball event pitting potential NCAA Championship hopefuls against each other Feb. 22-23, will feature 13 nationally televised games – across ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3. ESPN2 will feature five BracketBusters games, while ESPNU and ESPN3 will each house four games.
