Cohen Earns Another SoCon Player of the Week Honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time this season, senior Jake Cohen of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for games played February 19-25, announced the league office Tuesday.
For the week, Cohen averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as the Wildcats ran their winning streak to 12 straight with victories over Furman (73-36) and Montana (93-87 ot).
In addition to connecting on 54 percent of his shot attempts, Cohen went 13-of-14 (.928) at the charity stripe. The 6-10 forward also added 2.5 steals and 1.0 block per game.
After contributing his second double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) of the season, Cohen capped his week with 28 points (25 first half), four rebounds and four assists, while going 9-of-15 from the floor and 9-of-10 at the line in the Wildcats' BracketBusters win over Montana.
Cohen, who has received the weekly honor six times during his career, ranks fifth in the SoCon in scoring (15.0 ppg), eighth in field goal percentage (.496), fifth in free-throw percentage (.832) and second in blocked shots (1.8 bpg).
Davidson (21-7, 15-1 SoCon) returns to the court Wednesday night when the Wildcats visit Elon (19-9, 12-4 SoCon).
