Diving Falls to Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Kaliya Burton-Akright set a new school record in the 3-meter diving event as the Davidson diving team fell to the Clemson Tigers, 106-58, on Saturday afternoon.
Burton-Akright scored a career-best 285.67 in the 3-meter, taking fourth place overall and setting a new Davidson program mark. Her score qualified her for the NCAA Zone meet, where she will join teammate Karen Monuszko, who had previously qualified for the competition. Burton-Akright also took fourth in the 1-meter event, recording a score of 230.22 points.
Monuszko took fifth place in the 1-meter event with a score of 230.22. She fell five points short of her personal-best in the 3-meter dive, recording 275.40 points for fifth place in that event as well.
The Wildcats will head to Athens, Ga. on Feb. 21-23 for the 2013 CCSA Championship Meet.
