Cohen Earns Second Southern Conference Player of the Week Honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second time this season, Davidson's Jake Cohen has been named the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
For the week of Jan. 2-7, Cohen averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Cohen shot 60 percent from the field (12-of-20), connected on 4-of-7 attempts from 3-point range and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line.
Against top-ranked Duke, Cohen scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds while becoming the school's all-time leader in blocked shots.
The 6-10 forward capped his week with a game-high 20 points and eight more boards in the Wildcats' 85-53 win over UNCG.
Cohen ranks among league leaders in scoring (13.6/14th), rebounding (5.7/14th), blocked shots (1.5/2nd) and free-throw percentage (.838/5th).
This marks the fifth time in Cohen's career he has received this honor.
Davidson will begin a stretch of four games in seven days when it travels to Furman for a 4:30 p.m. contest Saturday.
