DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team looks to regroup after suffering their first Southern Conference defeat when they turn around and host Samford Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip at John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats (8-8, 5-1 SoCon), who fell 60-56 to Chattanooga on Friday, are continuing their season-long homestand vs. Samford Sunday and will also welcome UNCG (Jan. 23) and Elon (Jan. 26) during the stretch. They sit at 3-1 this year at home and have compiled a 151 career victories since first playing at Belk Arena in 1992-93.
Game Notes: Quick Hits...
•Davidson continues its four-game homestand by hosting Samford Sunday afternoon.
•The 'Cats, winners of four of their last five games, had their four-game win streak snapped Friday.
•The 'Cats return four starters and 12 letterwinners from last year's 22-10 squad (17-3 SoCon)

•Murray, who had her five-game double-digit scoring streak snapped Friday, is averaging 14 points in the last eight games. Prior to her streak, the junior had scored just 21 points in four games.
Home & SoCon Streaks Snapped...
•The 'Cats, winners of 17 of their last 20 SoCon games dating back to last Jan. 13, 2012, had their their seven-game league home winning streak snapped Friday.
•They also saw their eight-game home overall win streak halted, the longests since a program-best nine-game streak in 1998-99. Their six-game overall SoCon win streak also came to an end.
Preseason Honors...
•Davidson was picked first in the SoCon preseason coaches poll and second in the media poll.
•Aleksandravicius was tabbed the preseason SoCon Player of the Year favorite, while she and Laura Murray were named to the coaches preseason all-league team for the second time.
Welcome to the 1,000-Point Club...
•Murray became the 16th Wildcat in program history to clip the 1,000-point mark with her fifth and sixth points in the first half Friday evening vs. UTC. It marks the seventh year in a row a player has joined the elite club.
Series vs. Samford...
•Davidson and Samford have faced either nine times, with the 'Cats trailing 6-3.
•The Wildcats split last year's two-game series, earning a road win (52-39) in the final game of the season to capture the SoCon Regular Season title. Davidson though fell in the semifinals of the tournament to the Bulldogs, 62-51, and Samford went onto win the title.
Scouting the Opposition
•Samford (9-7) moved to 6-1 in SoCon play with a 47-38 triumph at Western Carolina on Friday.
•It was the Bulldogs' fourth straight win as they were paced by Taylor Reece's 14 points. Jazmine Martin had 13 points
