Swimming & Diving Hosts Arkansas, Queens in Return to Cannon Pool

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming & diving teams will make their return to the pool this weekend when they host the men's and women's teams of Queens University of Charlotte and the Arkansas women's team in an 11a.m. meet Saturday at Cannon Pool.
WHILE THEY WERE GONE…
The Wildcat men's and women's teams spent part of Christmas break on their annual training trip to Florida. While in the Sunshine State, each team recorded a victory over Bates College in Deerfield Beach.
ONKEN, NAKANO SET MARKS
While at the Total Performance Swim Camps Invitational at Kenyon College, both Meredith Nakano and Drew Onken had impressive performances. Nakano came away with a runner up finish in the 200-yard butterfly, setting a new Davidson record of 2:01.87. Meanwhile Onken set a new program mark in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.09 in the preliminary race. He would also set the meet and pool record with his winning time of 3:53.01 in the 400 IM.
ONKEN ADDS ACCOLADES
As a result of his performance at the TPSC Invite, Drew Onken picked up his fourth CCSA Male Swimmer of the Week honor on December 5. Onken picked up a pair of wins; a pair of runner -up finishes and was a member of five Wildcat relays. Two of his swims proved to be record setting at the event.
CCSA LEADERS
Nine of the Wildcats' performances at the TPSC (Kenyon) Invite, including eight individual and one relay, sit atop the CCSA's best times list this season.
