DAVIDSON, N.C. — Fresh off a 3-0 road trip, the Davidson women's basketball team starts a four-game homestand with a matchup against the Chattanooga Mocs Friday at John M. Belk Arena for a 7 p.m. tip.

The 'Cats, a perfect 4-0 to start the new calendar year, sit in first place in the Southern Conference with a 5-0 mark, while the Mocs are right behind them with a 5-1 record.

Game Notes: Quick Hits...
•Davidson (8-7, 5-0 SoCon) begins a season-long four-game homestand by hosting Chattanooga Friday evening.
•The Wildcats, winners of their last four straight, finished out a 3-0 road trip on Tuesday at Furman.
•The 'Cats just concluded playing 12 of their first 15 games on the road, going 5-7 during that span.
•The 'Cats return four starters and 12 letterwinners from last year's 22-10 squad (17-3 SoCon)
•Head coach Michele Savage enters her third year at Davidson (44-34, 30-15 SoCon).

Last Time Out...
•Davidson moved to 5-0 in league action with a big 41-point win at Furman, 87-46. It was the largest in the all-time series as the 'Cats hit season bests in numerous categories.
Sophia Aleksandravicius set the program's all-time points mark, while Laura Murray led three 'Cats in double digits with 17 points. Hannah Early had a career-best 15 and Dakota Dukes had 12.
•The Wildcats shot a season-best 59.2 percent in the win, including 65 percent in the second half.

Aleksandravicius Dominates on the Blocks...
•The senior has tallied eight double-doubles and seven in the last 11 games.
•Aleksandravicius is averaging team bests of 14.2 points and 10 rebounds (2nd in SoCon).
•The forward was the SoCon Player of the Week, Jan. 8.

Murray Breaking Out of Scoring Slump...
•Murray is averaging 14.7 points in the last seven games and has scored in double digits in six of those games. Prior to her streak, the junior had scored just 21 points combined in four games.
•She is averaging 14.4 points per game in her five SoCon games with 13 steals.

Home & SoCon Streaks...
•The 'Cats have won 17 of their last 19 SoCon games dating back to last Jan. 13, 2012, including winning their past seven at home. Of those 17 wins, nine of them have come on the road.
•Davidson is currently riding a six-game league win streak dating back to the final game last year.
•Davidson is riding an eight-game home win streak, one off the school-best nine set in 1998-99.

Preseason Honors...
•Davidson was picked first in the SoCon preseason coaches poll and second in the media poll.
•Aleksandravicius was tabbed the preseason SoCon Player of the Year favorite, while she and Murray were named to the coaches preseason all-league team for the second time.

Aleksandravicius & Murray - Record Watch...
•Aleksandravicius broke the all-time scoring mark of 1,510 points at Furman, while Murray needs just five more points to become the 16th Wildcat to clip the 1,000-point mark.

Series vs. Chattanooga
•Davidson has not fared well in the all-time series vs. Chattanooga, trailing 30-9, but the Wildcats stopped a four-game skid last year with a win at home.
•In last year's home win, the 'Cats took a 56-52 victory behind Aleksandravicius' double-double.  
 
Scouting the Opposition
•Chattanooga (12-3, 5-1 SoCon) won its eighth game in the past 10 on Monday with a 64-53 home win over CofC.
•The Mocs are right behind Davidson with a 5-1 league mark after going 16-4 a year ago.
•In Monday's win, Ashlen Dewart had 26 points, her seventh 20-point outing of the season.
•Dewart is second in the league at 16.7 points a game, while Kayla Christopher is 13th at 12.5.
•Christopher and Taylor Hall were preseason All-SoCon picks. Hall is averaging 9.7 ppg.
•UTC has earned SoCon wins against Wofford, Furman, UNCG, Ga. Southern and CofC.
•The Mocs are second in scoring (70.4), scoring defense (55.7) and rebounding (41.7) in the SoCon.
•Chattanooga has gone 4-3 on the road, 1-1 in league games.
•UTC went 7-2 in non-conference play, including netting an 80-71 win vs. Tennessee to start year.
•Chattanooga was picked third in the league's coaches poll after a 22-10 campaign a year ago.
