DAVIDSON, N.C. – After kicking off SoCon play on the road last weekend, the Davidson volleyball team returns to Belk Arena this weekend for a pair of crucial league match ups. The 'Cats are set to square off against The Citadel Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon before looking to pack the house when they take on the College of Charleston Cougars on Sunday. Both matches are slated for 2 p.m.
PACK THE HOUSE
The Wildcats will look to pack the house during Sunday's match against the College of Charleston, with the team setting an attendance goal of 800 spectators. In addition to seeing an exciting match up, fans have the opportunity to take part in volleyball BINGO and prize giveaways. The volleyball attendance record for Belk Arena was 833, set in 2008 when the Wildcats hosted UNC Greensboro.
VS. THE CITADEL
The 'Cats and the Bulldogs will meet for the 28th time in program history on Saturday, with Davidson boasting the 26-1 series advantage. The two teams first met in 1998 with the Wildcats taking a 3-0 win when the two met at Charleston Southern. Davidson won last seasons' meetings by scores of 3-0 and 3-0.
VS. COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
Sunday marks the 38th all-time meeting between the 'Cats and the Cougars, with the College of Charleston entering the match up with the 28-9 series lead since the first meeting in 1989. The Cougars took both of last season's meetings, though the Wildcats took them to five sets the last time the two met at Belk Arena. Caroline Brown had 22 kills and 18 digs with a pair of service aces, though the 'Cats would fall 3-2 in the match.
CRENSHAW MAKING HISTORY
Senior libero Molly Crenshaw moved up on the all-time digs list this past weekend. Crenshaw's 15 digs against Wofford on Saturday put her at 1,410 for her career. She has overtaken Mimi Plauche, who compiled 1,407 digs from 1988-91, and moved into sixth place all-time. Crenshaw needs 57 more to move into a tie for fifth place.
DEFENSE DOES IT
The Davidson defense has emerged as one of the early leaders this season, ranking third overall in the SoCon by allowing opponents an attacking percentage of just .187. The 'Cats are also third in digs, averaging 16.47 per set with Molly Crenshaw leading the way at 4.78. Crenshaw ranks 76th in the NCAA in that category, while the Wildcats come in at 51st in team digs per set.

Megan Chamberlin currently leads the Southern Conference in service aces, averaging 0.47 per set this season. Chamberlin recently served up a season-high seven vs. Wofford last weekend.
