
Davidson Competes at Duke Invite and Terrier Relays Over Weekend

DURHAM, N.C./SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Davidson women's track and field team competed over the weekend at both the Duke Invitational Friday and Saturday as well as the Wofford Terrier Relays on Saturday.
Grace Watt, Shelby Waggensellar and Manya Swick each finished in the top-10, respectively, in the events they competed in at the Duke Invite. Watt raced to a time of 1:00.72 in the 400 Meter dash development to earn herself a seventh place showing. Ashley Page and Brooke Senken each competed in the event as well. Page crossed the finish line in 19th place with a time of 1:07.16 and Senken was 20th, clocking in at 1:07.57.
Waggensellar, in her first event of the spring, tallied a 10th place finish in the 200 Meter dash development with a time of 27.34. Mackenzie Hicks was 21st in the event (28.64) and Page raced to a 25th place finish (30.31) in her second event of the weekend.
In the 5000 Meter, Swick had the ninth-fastest time at 17:48.25. She was also joined in the event by Erin Osment, who was seven spots behind Swick with a time of 18:12.16.
Presley Parkes led a trio of Wildcats in the 1500 Meter as the freshman was 23rd on a time of 4:46.49. Senior Jane Gay came in 44th after crossing the finish line at 5:10.91 and Maggie Rickard was one spot behind her at 5:19.84.
Rounding out the Wildcats at the Duke Invite was Lauren Carter and Claire Naisby, who each raced in the 5000 Meter section B. Carter had the 15th-best time at 18:59.32 and Naisby was just two spots behind for 17th on a time of 19:09.41.
Three Wildcats headed down to Spartanburg, S.C., to compete in the Wofford Terrier Relays on Saturday. Molly Marshall had a solid showing in the Pole Vault with a second place showing after she cleared 10 feet, her best of the season. Lexie Winograd also competed in the event for the first time this spring, but did not record a height. Mary Grace Gordon jumped in the Long Jump and finished third in the event on a jump of 5.04 meters.
Davidson will next race at the Carolina's Cup, April 13, to be held in Rock Hill, S.C.
