Cohen Tabbed SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Senior Jake Cohen of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for games played Dec. 11-17, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

The Berwyn, Pa., native led the Wildcats to a 77-61 victory over UNCW with a season-high 21 points (16 second half) on 5-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers. The 6-10 forward also hit all eight of his attempts at the charity stripe, while grabbing four rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

Voted last year's Southern Conference Player of the Year by the media, Cohen currently ranks among league leaders in scoring (12.3 ppg/17th), rebounding (5.6 rpg/15th), blocks (1.6 bpg/2nd) and free-throw percentage (.790/8th).

Cohen and the Wildcats return to the court this weekend when they travel to Drexel for an 8 p.m. televised (NBC Sports) contest Saturday.
