
Davidson Alum Lovedale Drafted By NBA D-League Austin Toros

AUSTIN, Texas – Andrew Lovedale, a 2009 Davidson men's basketball graduate, was selected 47th overall by the Austin Toros in the third round of the 2012 NBA D-League Draft Friday evening.
Lovedale ranks seventh all-time at Davidson with 752 career rebounds, playing from 2005-09. In 2008-09, Lovedale averaged 12.5 points an outing and ranked second in the Southern Conference in rebounding (8.6/gm) and blocked shots (1.6/gm), while ranking 10th in field goal percentage (.510) to earn All-SoCon honors. He was a key part of Davidson's Elite Eight run in 2008, recording a double-double in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Gonzaga.
Lovedale had been playing basketball professionally in France, most recently with Quimper UJAP. He has also founded a charitable foundation, Access to Success, which helps underprivileged youth in his native Nigeria.
