Today's Game
• Davidson will look for its first win of the season against league-leading Jacksonville with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
• It's "Take a Kid to the Game Day," as all youths 12-and-under get in free with a paying adult.
• Davidson's “air raid” offense (255.20 YPG, 27th in FCS) will face JU's FCS-leading pass defense which has yielded just 127.17 YPG this season.
• The game is the third-and-final of a three-game homestand and the third in a stretch of four home games in five weeks.
• LB Patrick Moynahan is tied for ninth in the NCAA FCS with 1.60 tackles for loss per game, and is 23rd in the nation with 10.40 tackles per game.
• P Chazzo Habliston is the reigning PFL?Special Teams Player of the Week and a College Football Performance Awards Punter of the Week Honorable Mention. He averaged 41.4 yards on seven punt attempts last week vs. Dayton, placing two inside the 20-yard line and booming a long of 50 yards. He also made one tackle. Habliston leads the league in punting with a 41.46 average, which also ranks 30th in the NCAA FCS.
• Senior WR Lanny Funsten was recognized as a Preseason All-PFL honoree in addition to preseason FCS All-American honors by College Sporting News, The Sports Network and BeyondSportsCollegeNetwork.com. He needs at least five receptions for 104 yards and three receiving touchdowns to become Davidson's all-time leader the respective categories.
• Davidson has lost PFL?contests to Marist and Dayton, while Jacksonville has defeated Dayton, Marist and Morehead State. Jacksonville's only loss this season was to No. 3 Georgia Southern.
• Jacksonville QB Kade Bell and DT?Jaun Pimienta were named the PFL?Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for performances last week vs. Morehead State.
• The 'Cats were picked ninth in the PFL preseason poll while Jacksonville was picked third.
Series Record
• Jacksonville leads the all-time series, which dates back to 1998, 8-6 after winning the last three contests.
• The 'Cats and Dolphins have played each season since the inception of Jacksonville's program in 1998.
• Eight of the 14 games between the teams have been decided by 10 points or less, including three of the last five contests.
• Five games in the series have been decided by a touchdown or less.
• Jacksonville quarterback Josh McGregor rolled up 399 yards of total offense, and the Dolphins scored four touchdowns in 6:56 of the second half en route to a 56-13 win over Davidson last season at D.B. Milne Field.
Jonathan Carkhuff completed 34-of-58 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown for Davidson. Lanny Funsten posted a career-high 11 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. Chris Trinetti caught five passes for a career-high 62 yards, and Trey Huelskamp had career highs of six receptions and 47 yards.
• McGregor rushed for 104 yards and threw for 295 and four scores for Jacksonville. Larry Thompson had five receptions for 110 yards and three TDs.
• Lacy McDougald's two interceptions led to two touchdowns in 1:09 to break open a 14-7 game in the 3rd quarter. He returned his first pick 25 yards to the Davidson 30-yard line. McGregor then hit Thompson for a 21-yard TD pass on 4th-and-1.
• Two plays later, McDougald picked off a Carkhuff pass and went 59 yards for a touchdown and a 28-7 Jacksonville lead with 2:47 left in the period. D'Andre Randle iced the game with a 94-yard punt return for touchdown 32 seconds into the fourth quarter, and McGregor connected with Tommie Rogers for a 40-yard TD pass with 12:00 remaining.
• Trailing 14-0, Davidson got on the scoreboard late in the first half as the Wildcats got the ball at their own 20 with 1:33 on the clock. Carkhuff completed 8-of-9 passes for all 80 yards and capped the drive with a 9-yard pass to Funsten to make the margin 14-7 with 11.4 seconds left. Trinetti had 47 receiving yards in the drive, including consecutive receptions of 21 and 18 yards.
Last Time Out
• Davidson had chances to get back in the game late in the first half, but two fumbles proved costly as Dayton scored 31 points by halftime and totaled 289 yards rushing for the game in a 38-3 victory over the Wildcats in PFL action last Saturday at Richardson Stadium.
 • Jonathan Carkhuff completed 22-of-39 attempts for 231 yards, with Garrett Diehl leading the 'Cats with six receptions for 76 yards. Six players combined to rush for 72 yards, led by freshman Colby Everett with 22 yards on four carries. 
 • Connor Kacsor led Dayton with 135 yards on 11 carries, including a pair of touchdowns going for 30 and 38 yards, respectively. Will Bardo (4-of-8 passing, 58 yards) and Jake Voigt (6-of-9 passing, 54 yards) split time at quarterback, with Bardo also rushing for 65 yards and throwing a touchdown, and Voigt throwing one interception. Nik Gillum caught Bardo's touchdown pass and totaled 52 yards on four receptions.
 • AJ Pignone and Matt Casey led Davidson defensively in tackles with career-highs of nine and eight, respectively. Adam Dulberger had an interception in the second half.
 • Ben Welsh made six stops to lead Dayton, while Devon Morgan had a sack and forced a fumble that he returned 66 yards for a touchdown.
• Trailing 24-0 late in the first half, a 43-yard pass to Lanny Funsten gave Davidson 1st-and-goal from the Dayton nine, but running back Spencer Perry fumbled on the next play and it was recovered by Dayton's Zach Elias. Davidson stopped Dayton to get the ball back, and a 19-yard run by Carkhuff gave Davidson the ball at the Dayton 20, but Carkhuff was stripped of the ball and Morgan returned it for a touchdown and 31-0 Dayton lead to conclude the half.
• Davidson got on the scoreboard on its first possession of the second half after Dulberger intercepted a pass by Voigt at the Davidson 6-yard line. The 'Cats drove 81 yards on 14 plays to setup a 29-yard field goal that Robert Schick converted.
• Dayton answered with a 38-yard touchdown run by Connor Kacsor with 2:08 remaining in the third quarter for the final margin.
Leftovers from Dayton
Robert Schick's field goal was the first of his career and the first one attempted by Davidson this season.
• Davidson has dropped its last six meetings with Dayton, and has just one win in 11 all-time meetings.
• Funsten needs five more receptions to tie the Davidson career record of 179
