Davidson Names Billy Thom Director of Operations

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson men's basketball coach Bob McKillop announced today that he has named Billy Thom Director of Operations.
Thom, a native of Cold Spring, N.Y., who graduated from Davidson in May with a degree in Spanish, joined the men's basketball program as a student manager during his freshman year. He worked his way up to the title of student director of basketball operations as a junior and senior. In that role, he served as the video coordinator for the Wildcats and assisted in film exchange, travel preparation and opponent scouting.
“Billy came to Davidson with aspirations of becoming a basketball coach as his father is a prominent high school coach in New York,” said McKillop. “He knows our system inside and out, carries Davidson basketball in his heart and is one of our own. I'm very pleased he has joined our staff.”
Thom has also served as the assistant camp director for the Bob McKillop Basketball Camp at Davidson, an overnight camp with over 1,000 campers, for the past three years. Last summer, he was a volunteer assistant coach for the Croton-Harmon High School basketball program and the Hudson Valley squad that competes in the Empire State Games.
Thom replaces Terrell Ivory, who left Davidson to take an assistant coach position at Colgate.
