
Brendan McKillop Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has named Davidson guard Brendan McKillop to its Honors Court, which recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2010-11 season.
McKillop, who graduated in May with a degree in sociology and a 3.29 cumulative grade point average, started all 32 games he played in and averaged 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a senior. His 216 career 3-pointers made ranks fourth in school history and his 254 career assists ranks 16th.
McKillop was named SoCon Player of the Week Dec. 14, after scoring a game-high 21 points as the Wildcats defeated Charlotte 82-68 at Belk Arena. He tied his career high with seven made 3-pointers, leading Davidson to winning the Hornet's Nest Trophy for the first time since 2006. McKillop finished his career with 831 points, 254 assists, 215 rebounds and 70 steals in 117 games.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows: 1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player. 2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year. 3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution. 4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Institution.
