SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson's Jake Cohen has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played Nov. 29-Dec. 5, the league office announced today.
The Berwyn, Pa., native averaged 21 points and six rebounds while making 75 percent of his field goal attempts as Davidson beat Wofford (72-69) and Furman (86-65) last week.
Cohen began the week with 26 points and five rebounds as Davidson defeated Wofford Thursday night. The junior tallied 16 points and seven rebounds against Furman. Cohen made 12-of-16 field goal attempts on the week and was 16-of-18 from the free-throw line.
A forward, Cohen ranks 15th in the league in scoring (12.6 ppg), 14th in rebounding (5.7 rpg), second in blocked shots (1.7 bpg) and fourth in free throw percentage (.875).
The Wildcats (6-1) host Vanderbilt (5-3) Wednesday night at Belk Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
