JP Kuhlman Named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson's JP Kuhlman has been named the Southern Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for all games played Nov. 22-28, the league office announced Tuesday.
The junior guard scored a season-high 21 points on the road as Davidson topped UNC Wilmington 70-67 in its only action last week. With the Wildcats holding a 68-67 lead late in the game, Kuhlman grabbed a defensive rebound and was fouled before hitting two free throws with 1.2 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
The Ponte Vedra, Fla., native connected on 6-of-11 shots from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. He made six of seven free throw attempts, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out two assists in 33 minutes against the Seahawks. Kuhlman is tied for seventh in the Southern Conference in scoring with 14.2 points per game.
The Wildcats (4-1) open conference play this Thursday when they travel to Wofford (3-3) for a 7 p.m. contest in Benjamin Johnson Arena. Davidson is back home Saturday to host Furman at 7 p.m. in John M. Belk Arena.
