BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Samford Bulldogs scored single goals in the first and second half to earn a 2-0 win over Davidson on Friday night at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium in a key Southern Conference matchup in women's soccer.
Davidson, fighting to hold onto the fourth spot in the league standings, fell to 7-8-2 overall and 5-4 in the SoCon. The 'Cats had entered play winners of five of their last seven games. The first half was fairly even, with Davidson getting two shots and Samford four. The 'Cats also had a pair of corner kicks, but were not able to covert on either of the set plays.
