BOCA RATON, Fla. – Seniors Lindsey Martin and Emily Castle were individual and relay event winners as the Wildcat women's swimming and diving team concluded its winter training trip with a dual meet against Miami University at the St. Andrew's School in Boca Raton, Fla. Wednesday afternoon.
The RedHawks, ranked number one in the latest collegeswimming.com Mid-Major Poll, defeated the Wildcats, 134-71 in the team competition.
“I was impressed that both teams, in the midst of hard training, competed hard,” head coach John Young said.
Martin was the Wildcats' top finisher, winning a pair of events — the 50 and the 100 free, and anchoring Davidson's winning 200 freestyle relay. Martin won the 50 free with a time of 23.91 and the 100 free with a time of 51.85.
Castle was also an individual event winner for Davidson, winning the 100 fly in 56.80, and swimming the leadoff leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay.
“Lindsey and Emily had nice wins, and the whole team looks on track for impressive end of season performances.”
