'Cats Host Wofford in Saturday Night SoCon Showdown

Layup Line
• Davidson hosts defending SoCon champion Wofford in a South Division contest. It's the first of two meetings this season.
• Davidson is in the midst of a stretch in which the Wildcats play eight games in 22 days, including four contests in nine days.
• The Wildcats are 3-3 in their last six games and coming off a 79-70 home win over Furman Wednesday.
• Davidson coach Bob McKillop is nine wins shy of his 400th career victory. He is slated to coach his 1,000th game (647 college, 344 high school) at Wofford Feb. 9.
• Davidson was picked to finish third in the SoCon South Division again this season, while Wofford was picked first.
• The 'Cats are 4-1 at home this season and 1-1 in home SoCon games.
• Wofford is second in the South with a 4-1 record. The Terriers' lone loss came at home against first-place College of Charleston last Saturday.
• Wofford is 3-3 in its last six and coming off a 74-65 win at Georgia Southern Wednesday.
• The Terriers are 2-5 away from home this season but 2-0 in league play.
• Noah Dahlman leads the team in scoring, averaging 19.6 points and 5.5 rebounds. Jamar Diggs averages 12.9 points and 3.1 assists, and Cameron Rundles averages 12.6 points and 2.8 assists.
• The Terriers have played a tough schedule with games at Minnesota, Clemson, Xavier, South Carolina and Virginia Commonwealth, and neutral site contests vs. Georgetown and George Mason.
Series History
• Davidson leads the all-time series 69-23, but Wofford won both meetings last season.
• The series began in the 1911-12 season with a 44-37 Terrier victory.
• Davidson is 50-9 against Wofford at home, 10-2 in Belk Arena and 17-8 under coach Bob McKillop.
• Strong defense and Noah Dahlman's 19 points led Wofford to a 73-51 win over Davidson in the last meeting, which took place at Belk Arena last February.
• Jake Cohen led the Wildcats with 17 points, hitting all 10 free throw attempts, and added five rebounds. JP Kuhlman also reached double figures, scoring 13 points and led the 'Cats with six boards. Will Archambault chipped in seven points and four rebounds.
• Dahlman scored his 19 points for Wofford on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 shooting from the charity stripe. He also pulled in six boards. Jamar Diggs added 10 points and Brad Loesing scored nine. Tim Johnson led the Terriers on the glass with eight rebounds.
• The Terrier defense held the 'Cats to 29.5 percent shooting for the game, including 5-for-24 in the first half. Davidson made its first two shot attempts of the game but then went ice cold, making one of its next 15 attempts from the field as the Terriers opened a 23-point cushion.

• Bob McKillop is now nine wins away from 400 for his career.
• Davidson extended its win streak over Furman to 11 games.

• Brendan McKillop has been named one of 66 candidates for the Bob Cousy Award, which recognizes college basketball's top point guard.
• Cohen was named to the MSG?Holiday Festival All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.5 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in two games.
• Davidson has held its opponents to under 40 percent shooting in six games and won all six.
• With just one non-conference game left in the regular season (BracketBuster Feb. 19), Davidson owns a 6-5 non-conference mark.
• Davidson began the season by playing 10 of its first 13 games on the road. The 'Cats home opener was the sixth game of the year, the latest during the 22-year tenure of head coach Bob McKillop.
• Davidson won its home opener for the 19th consecutive season.
• The Wildcats opened SoCon play with two games in Charleston for the second-straight campaign.
• The Wildcats' 80-52 loss at No. 24 Vanderbilt Jan. 2, was their worst loss since a 75-47 setback at then eighth-ranked Duke in 2006.

• Brendan McKillop is 324 points away from 1,000 for his career. He also needs 15 3-pointers to move into the career top-5 at Davidson. The game against Furman Jan. 12, was his 100th career contest.
• Jake Cohen needs two blocked shots to move into the career top-10 at Davidson. Frank Ben-Eze needs 19.
• Cohen needs 375 points for 1,000, and Kuhlman needs 412.
