W. LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Junior Lindsey Martin concluded her competition at the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships by swimming another personal and Davidson record time in the 100 freestyle in the preliminary competition Saturday morning at Purdue University's Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
Martin finished 28th in her final race of the competition with a personal and college record time of 49.55. She did the same in the 200 free prelim yesterday morning with a time of 1:48.76.
Auburn's Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace won the preliminary with a time of 47.74, and Texas A&M's Julia Wilkinson also went under 48 with a runner-up time of 47.89. Stanford teammates Julia Smit (48.16) and Kate Dwelley (48.20) finished third and fourth, while Florida's Shara Stafford (48.31), California's Liv Jensen (48.44), Georgia's Morgan Scroggy (48.45) and Tennessee's Michele King (48.48) fill out the championship heat.
Hannah Wilson (California, 48.50), Justine Schlunt (Arizona, 48.59), Lauren Perdue (Virginia, 48.61), Megan Romano (Georgia, 48.64), Karlee Bispo (Texas, 48.69), Elizabeth Webb (Stanford, 48.73), Samantha Woodward (Stanford, 48.73) and Erica Dagg (California, 48.89) made it back to the evening session in the consolation final.
