
Burton-Akright Earns Second CCSA Diver of the Week Honor

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Freshman Kaliya Burton-Akright was named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-25, earning her second honor of the season after impressive performances at NC State last weekend.
Burton-Akright earned her second diver of the week honor after finishing third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events against the Wolfpack Saturday as the Wildcats competed at the Triangle Aquatic Center. The freshman scored 236.00 in the 1-meter and 227.70 in the 3-meter.
Burton-Akright, who presently ranks second in the conference in both events, also earned Diver of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 11-17, when she recorded a personal season-high 244.42 on the 1-meter and a then CCSA-best 240.52 on the 3-meter.
Florida Gulf Coast junior Victoria Cadge was named CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week. Cadge won the 200 breast (2:18.33) and in the 200 IM (2:03.95), and picked up second in the 100 back with a season-best time 56.72 against Florida State and Miami last Saturday.
Also nominated for Women's Swimmer of the Week for Week 4: Gracie Herlong (College of Charleston), Lindsey Martin (Davidson) and Lindsay Goodman (Georgia Southern).
Also nominated for Women's Diver of the Week for Week 4: Sara Meisenhelder (Georgia Southern) and Alex Valder (FGCU).
